A small plane that transported six people crashed into an open field near Copake, in the state of New York, on Saturday, April 12, according to the Federal Federal Administration of Federal Aviation (FAA), the American air regulator.
The victims are two doctors, their children and their partners. Among them, Karenna Groff, a former American football player, a deceased in American university football.
“A MITSUBISHI MU-2B (the plane model, the editor’s note) crashed in a field near Copake, New York, around 12:15 pm on Saturday, April 12. The plane was heading to the county airport in Hudson, in New York. Six people were on board,” the authorities said, like Paris.
A video in the hands of researchers
On Sunday, the officials of the National Transport Security Board, the agency responsible for investigating these accidents, communicated during a point to the press. It was specified that, shortly before the fateful moment, the pilot had warned to the airport that he had lost his first approach. Air controllers received a low radar altitude alert.
Then they tried to transmit it to the pilot, but they did not receive a response from the aircraft. A relief signal has not been issued.
Supporting the video, federal researchers were able to observe the last moments of the flight. We see “the intact plane” before he “crushed at a high speed of descent to the ground.” Faced with the resistance of the shock, the plane “compressed, deformed and embedded in the ground,” said Todd Inman, head of the investigation.
This accident occurred only a few days after the fatal accident of a helicopter in the Hudson River in New York, in which six people lost their lives on April 10.
