A sordid matter. In Germany, a doctor who worked in a palliative care team is accused of Berlin’s prosecution of having killed 15 of his patients. The prosecutor declared in a statement this Wednesday, April 16, complains for 15 cases of murders “with malicious intention and other vile reasons” on Wednesday.
To commit these crimes, the health professional would have administered a drug cocktail to his victims, “an anesthetic inductor and then a muscle relaxant” “without medical indication and without his knowledge or without his consent,” specifies the Prosecutor’s Office in a press release.
These drugs would have “led to the paralysis of the respiratory muscles and, therefore, to a stop and respiratory death in a few minutes.”
The murders took place between September 2021 and July 2024 in several German states. 12 women were killed and three men. The youngest person was 25 years old and the oldest of 94. He is accused of killing two people, on the same day on July 8, 2024: a 75 -year -old man in his department in a district in the center of Berlin and “a few hours later”, a 76 -year -old woman in a neighboring neighborhood.
The house of certain burned victims
According to the accusation, the 40 -year -old has also set fire in the apartment of four of his victims after having killed them. “He is accused of burning his houses to hide these murders,” said the prosecutor.
It was these fires that put the police on the track. The doctor was arrested in August 2024 for four murders in patients. But the investigation revealed the scale of the case, and other crimes could be discovered. 75 cases are still examined and five other exhumations are planned.
In detention since August 2024, it has not yet been expressed in the events alleged against him, according to the prosecution of Berlin.
“The prosecutor not only seeks to obtain a condemnation and determination of the particular seriousness of the FAILURE, but also to pronounce a professional prohibition for life and a subsequent preventive detention,” is specified.
