The Palestinian civil defense announced that Israeli air attacks had left at least seven dead in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, April 22.
Two attacks at night in western Gaza-Ville killed respectively four and two, while the bombing of a house in Khan Younès, in the south of the Palestinian territory, killed a person, said Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal to the AFP.
Breaking a truce of almost two months, Israel resumed on March 18 its aerial offensive and then earthly against the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in Gaza.
51,240 dead in Gaza
According to the Hamas Ministry of Health, at least 1,864 Palestinians have been killed since March 18, which has the number of deaths to Gaza to 51,240 from the beginning of the Israeli reprisal offensive in 2023.
The war was caused by the unprecedented attack of Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023, which led to the death of 1,218 people on the Israeli side, mostly civilians, according to an AFP count based on official data.
Of the 251 people kidnapped that day, 58 are still retained in Gaza, 34 of which they died, according to the Israeli army.
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday that he was determined to continue the war and rejected Hamas’ Diktats.
According to Benjamin Netanyahu, only military pressure will allow the return of hostages still detained in Gaza.
