“I shouted like crazy, but nobody listened to me,” said the local newspaper resident.

To avoid a panic movement, the Gallego Rescue Unit summoned the inhabitants to keep the calm and insured that they did not lack air while waiting for the arrival of help.

“Keep calm. There is oxygen. Use the emergency button. If the elevator is not equipped with this system, call 112,” they said in X.

This Monday, the massive electric collapse paralyzed most of Spain and Portugal, renting airplanes in the field, interrupting public transport and forcing hospitals to suspend their routine operations.

The Spanish Ministry of Interior declared the National Emergency State and deployed 30,000 policemen throughout the country to maintain order, while the governments of the two countries convened emergency meetings of their offices.

At the moment, the exact cause of this general failure is unknown. Portugal suggests that the problem would come from Spain, when the latter points to a defective link with France.
