Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday, April 30 that “some citizens of the French Republic” fight “with the Russian soldiers on the Ukrainian front, reports the Russian news agency Tass.
According to the Russian president, these French “appointed his unity, such as his grandparents and great-grandparents, ‘Normandy-Niemen'”, in reference to the unity of the French aviators who fought with the Soviet army during World War II.
“The important thing is that there have always been people who shared, and still share, our principles and our values. The people who are by our side,” Vladimir Putin insisted.
