A volcano from the Philippines center broke out early this Tuesday, May 13, projecting a gray ash plume several kilometers in the sky and the rubble.
The Kanlaon volcano, one of the 24 active volcanoes of this country in Southeast Asia, had already exploded in April.
“A garbo that has been about three kilometers”
The level 3 alert, on a scale of 5, established during an eruption in December remained unchanged on Tuesday, with an evacuation radius maintained six kilometers. The surrounding villages have been evacuated since the implementation of this alert in December.
“There was a moderately explosive eruption in the Kanlaon volcano crater at 2:55 am today,” said the Philippin Volcanology and Seismology Institute in a press release, adding that he had lasted five minutes.
“The eruption has generated a great grayish style that has been around three kilometers,” continues the agency.
In August 1996, the Kanlaon volcano suddenly exploded, killing three hikers who were close to the summit.
