French President Emmanuel Macron called on Asia-Pacific countries on Friday to join the “growing consensus” against the war in Ukraine.
“France’s number one priority is to contribute to peace in Ukraine and try to have a global dynamic to put pressure on Russia,” Emmanuel Macron said on Friday. During the APEC summit of economic leaders, the President of the Republic urged the countries of Asia and the Pacific to join “the growing consensus” on the conflict.
“We do not believe in hegemony, confrontation. We believe in stability, we believe in innovation,” he also said from Bangkok.
The French president thus intends to “work very closely with China, India, the entire region, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, to create a growing consensus saying ‘this war is also your problem'”.
