A true nightmare for people with ornithophobia. The departure of a plane that was from Minneapolis to Madison, in the United States, was delayed due to two pigeons on Saturday, May 24.
The story, told to the American WCCO television by a passenger, Tom Caw, was shared by CBS. Tom Caw went to this plane from the company of Delta Airlines to go home, on Saturday night. “When I embarked, everything seemed normal. Then I went to sit and heard a passenger tell the staff, I think there is a dove on this plane,” he says.
According to him, the dove wandered and walked under the seats. Therefore, the plane is returned to the boarding door and was recovered by a track agent. The plane left to take off.
“A passenger tried to catch him”
While everyone thought the accident was over, a second pigeon appeared. Unlike the first, he was flying and sought to escape Tom Caw, therefore, he decided to film the scene.
“I took out my phone when I was flying back to the cabin. A passenger got up and tried to catch him with his jacket,” he said before adding: “The woman who was by my side panicked and said ‘I will need free wine’.”
Therefore, the plane was left naturally, once again, to the boarding door. The second pigeon was caught by another agent.
“I guess the pigeons were tired of flying and looking for snacks. They did not know that this flight was too short to have a drink or a snack,” he wrote, with humor, on Instagram.
The pigeons were released “Safey”
Delta Airlines confirmed to ABC News on Tuesday that the flight had been delayed in 56 minutes. The company also said: “We appreciate the actions carried out by our teams and passengers to get the birds, before departure.” Finally, he apologized for the delay.
