“We don’t want them”: Trump prohibits citizens from 12 countries from entering the United States

As of June 9, Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, will have the prohibition of entering the United States.

With a “travel ban” that recalls its first mandate, Donald Trump decided to prohibit nationals from 12 countries from entering the United States to “protect” the country from “foreign terrorists.”

He invoked a recent attack in Colorado in a video, against a demonstration of support for Israeli hostages, to explain their decision.

The prohibition, which will enter into force on June 9, applies to Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, according to a text made public by the White House.

Exceptions provided for some visas

Seven other countries are also attacked by restrictions: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela.

Exceptions are planned for the headlines of certain visas and for people whose trip to the United States “attends national interest.”

Venezuela warned its nationals on Wednesday to travel to the United States represented a “great risk.” The list does not include Egypt, a country of origin of the 45 -year -old man, accused of the attack by which Donald Trump justifies his decision.

In a video posted in X, the US president said that “the recent terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado (West) had highlighted the extreme dangers that represent (United States) the entry of foreign citizens who have not been properly controlled.” “We don’t want them,” he added.

On Sunday in Boulder, a man launched incendiary devices to the participants in a weekly march in support of the Israeli hostages selected in the Gaza Strip, which makes 12 injured. He had shouted “free Palestine” during his act.

This 45 -year -old Egyptian will appear on Thursday before the Court of Colorado to officially mean the charges against him. He is remarkably accused of “crime motivated by hatred” and attempt at murder.

Following the attack, Justice Minister Pam Bondi had denounced “that seems to be a horrible anti -Semitic attack.”

The US administration said that the alleged author of the attack was in the US territory in a “illegal” way, since its tourist visa expired. However, she admitted that he had asked for asylum and that she had obtained a work permit.
