The United States Minister of Health, Robert Kennedy JR, announced on Monday, June 10, to dismiss the 17 experts in an important advisory group about vaccines, accusing them of conflicts of interest, a new blow of the Donald Trump administration to the country’s vaccine policy.
This decision to return to the experts of the Vaccination Practices Advisory Committee was announced in a column in the Wall Street Journal, as well as in a press release.
Robert Kennedy JR (RFK) believes that this review of the panel composition is essential to restore public trust, accusing the group of experts to be committed to financial ties with pharmaceutical companies.
A group “Minée Conflicts of Persistent Interest”
“Today, we give priority to the restoration of public confidence instead of any professional or anti -acuna program,” Robert Kennedy wrote in a press release, notoriously skeptical about the efficiency of vaccines.
“The public should know that the recommendations of our health agencies are based on impartial scientific data, evaluated within the framework of a transparent process and unusual conflicts,” he adds.
In its gallery, RFK states that the group of experts is “undermined by conflicts of persistent interests” and that it only became “only a simple recording camera for any vaccine.”
Indicates that new members will replace outgoing experts. The latter had been designated due to their recognized experience and they were usually required to reveal any conflict of interest upstream.
Strong misinformation in vaccines
RFK has been promoting misinformation in vaccines for two decades, in particular the statement in large part denied that the measles vaccine, paperas and rubella (ror) is the cause of autism.
Since its entry to the position, it has reduced access to vaccines against COVVI-19 and has continued to sow doubts about the Ror vaccine, although the United States has experienced its worst measles epidemic for years, with three deaths reported and more than 1,100 identified cases, a figure that, according to experts, could greatly underestimate the real report.
