Boat for Gaza: 6 passengers, including the MEP Rima Hassan, on an plane from Israel

Six passengers of the boat for Gaza arrested by Israel, including the French Eurodiputada Rima Hassan, are on an Israel plane.

Six passengers of the boat for Gaza arrested by Israel, including the French Eurodiputa Rima Hassan, are on an Israel plane, said the Foreign Ministry of Israel, Gideon Sa’ar, at the end of the day.

“Six other passengers of the ‘Selfie Yate’, including Rima Hassan, leave Israel. Goodbye, and do not forget to take a selfie before leaving,” the ministry wrote in a brief English message on their account X accompanied by several passenger photos, including the MEP, aboard an plane.

The NGO Israeli Adalah, which helps the ship’s activists arrested by Israel, said Thursday that the authorities informed him that six of them, including Franco-Palestinian Eurodiputa Rima Hassan, were on their way to Ben Gurion airport to be expelled.

“After more than 72 hours of detention in Israel after the illegal interception (of the sailboat) Madleen in international waters, six volunteers are now transferred to Ben Gurion airport for their expulsion,” said the NGO.

Two other French soon expelled

These six activists are Rima Hassan, another French and four people from Germany, Türkiye, the Netherlands and Brazil, added in a statement. “They must be expelled” today (Thursday) or later tomorrow morning (Friday), “said the NGO.

Two other French are arrested in the Givon prison in Ramle, near Ben Gurion airport, waiting for his expulsion “tomorrow, June 13, in the afternoon”, according to the NGO, which emphasizes that his lawyers will see them on Thursday.

“During their arrest, the volunteers were subjected to ill -treatment, punitive measures and aggressive treatments, and two of them remained isolated for a while,” added the NGO.

Twelve activists left on June 1 of Italy aboard Madleen’s sailboat to reach the Gaza Strip and “break the Israeli block” imposed in the Palestinian territory, were arrested after Monday morning the boat arranged Monday by the Israeli navy about 185 kilometers from the coast of Gaza.

Four of them, Swedish Greta Thunberg, two French and a Spaniard, returned to their country earlier this week after accepting being expelled by Israel. The 12 activists are prohibited from staying in Israel for 100 years, said the NGO.
