Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday, June 15 that he had identified “an opening” about the hostages selected in the Gaza Strip and has given the order on Friday to advance the negotiations for his release.
“Say instructions the previous day yesterday to advance the negotiations because I identified an opening, I do not give up anyone,” says Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video broadcast by his office. Benjamin Netanyahu did not give more details about these negotiations.
In an interview with the American Channel Fox News, Benjamin Netanyahu then referred to the proposal of the special envoy of US President Donald Trump for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, providing “a high fire of 60 days (in Gaza) during which half of the hostages would be released immediately.”
“I’m determined to get them out”
This proposal has been subject to indirect negotiations between Israel and the Islamist movement Palestinian Hamas for more than two months, so far without result.
But “there was new on this issue” and “I hope we can do it, because I am determined to get them out,” said Benjamin Netanyahu to Fox News without more details.
This announcement occurs on the third day of military clashes between Israel and will be launched by an attack by Israel against the Islamic Republic.
The Israeli army announced on Sunday that the body of the unidentified hostage on Wednesday reported on Israel of Aviv Atzili, killed on October 7, 2023, the first day of the war launched by the unprecedented attack against Hamas in Israel for the Gaza Strip.
Of the 251 people kidnapped that day in Israel, 52 are still retained in the Gaza Strip, at least 30 of which died, according to Israeli authorities.
