Israel-Iran conflict: explosions heard in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem after Iranian missile fire

Strong explosions about Tel Aviv and Jerusalem were heard this Tuesday, June 17 after the impact of the warning sirens in certain regions of Israel after the missile fire from Iran, according to the Israeli army.

“The sirens sounded in several regions of Israel after the identification of missiles launched from Iran to the state of Israel,” the army said in a statement.

He added that the Air Force “operated to intercept and attack where it was necessary to eliminate the threat.”

About twenty minutes later, the Army published a statement that indicates that the population was authorized to leave shelters in several regions of the country, adding that rescue teams were working in several places where “information about the falling projectiles” was received.

In BFMTV, Olivier Rafowicz, Tsahal spokesman, said two Iranian missiles hit the Israeli soil. “There is material damage but not victims, five very light injured,” he said.

Missiles and shell bursts in the Tel Aviv region

In a message on Telegram, the Israeli police reported that the missiles and shell explosions had fallen in the Tel Aviv region, causing damage to material but not injured.

Fire and rescue services said they had received the first indications about a “shooting and missile fire” in a city in the Dan district, an area surrounding Tel Aviv.

“Around 8:45 am (05:45 GMT), many calls were received (…) about a missile shot and a fire in the Gush Dan region. Fire fighting teams are on their way to the place of the incident,” they said in a statement.
