The war in Ukraine: the “massive” Russian bombings in kyiv left at least five dead people and twenty wounds

During the night of June 22 to 22, Russia hit kyiv “massively” and his region, killing at least five people and about twenty injured. A week ago, Russian attacks had already left at least 28 people dead and more than 130 wounds in kyiv.

The “mass bombings” during the night in kyiv and their region left at least five dead and twenty injured, the Ukrainian authorities announced on Monday, June 23 after Ukraine promised to intensify their attacks in Russia.

The Ukrainian Minister of Interior, Igor Klymenko, reported “massive missile and drone bombing” during the night in the capital and its region. He deplored “attacks on residential areas, hospitals, sports facilities” for Russian forces “without respect for the concept of civil infrastructure.

In the district of Chevchenkivski, in the west of the capital, “an entire section of a several -story residential building was destroyed,” said Telegram Minister.

“A crater appeared in the courtyard of a residential building”

Only on this site, “at this stage, four people died. The rescuers came to help 10 people injured.” But there could be more victims under the rubble, he warned.

Another person died on strikes in Bela Tserkva, an agglomeration located in southern kyiv, who made ten injured, he added.

Several residents were also injured near a subway exit, where people took refuge, in the district of Sviatochinski, in the west of the capital, said the military administration of kyiv Timour Tkatchenko.

In a shelter located in the basement of a residential building in the center of kyiv, these journalists saw a dozen people waiting for the end of the attack in chairs or banks, most of them examining their phone in search of information. A woman and her son slept in folding beds in advance in the shelter.

After an attack in Denianski’s dasting, “a crater appeared in the courtyard of a residential building,” Timour Taktchenko said.

At least 28 dead a week ago

The Ukrainian cities are attacked every night by Russian strikes, at a time when conversations for a high fire are blocked.

At least 28 people had been killed and more than 130 wounds in kyiv on the night of June 16 to 17 during a Russian attack carried out using more than 440 drones and 32 missiles, according to the Ukrainian authorities.

In the Rostav region, in southern Russia, an attack on Ukrainian drones on Monday “caused a fire in an industrial company in the Kamenski district,” said Regional Governor Iuri Sliussar on Telegram.

The commander, in the main of the Ukrainian armies, Oleksandr Syrsky, said on Saturday that Ukraine would introduce his strikes against the deep Russian military objectives in Russia, three weeks after a spectacular attack in the remote air bases in this country.

In August 2024, the Ukrainian army had attacked Koursk’s Russian border region by surprise, taking hundreds of square kilometers before being evicted in spring by the Russian forces supported by a North Korean contingent.

Oleksandr Syrsky said Ukraine still had 90 square kilometers in this region. “These are our preventive actions in response to a possible enemy offensive,” he said.

Moscow occupies a fifth of Ukraine

Currently, Moscow occupies approximately a fifth of Ukraine and has already claimed the annexation of four Ukrainian regions, in addition to the Crimean Peninsula, which invaded in 2014.

Subsequently, Moscow launched attacks in the Ukrainian region near Soumy, seizing several locations and saying that he wanted to constitute a damping area.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said last week that he did not exclude taking the city of Soumy, the regional capital, while kyiv accuses Moscow to deliberately sabotage a peace agreement to understand more territories.

At the diplomatic level, kyiv supported the attacks of the United States and Israel against nuclear sites in Iran on Sunday, believing that it was a consequence of “aggressive actions” of the Iranian authorities.

Ukrainian diplomacy also said that Iran was “accomplice” of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and provided “military assistance” in Moscow, especially drones used to bombard the Ukrainian territory.
