The head of the Iranian diplomacy, Abbas Araghchi, denounced this Friday, June 27, the “malicious intentions” on Friday, June 27, which gives the Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (AIEA) Rafael Grossi, which he considers necessary to visit the Iranian nuclear sites bombarded by the United States.
“Rafael’s insistence is growing to visit the bombarded sites (…) makes no sense and can even hide malicious intentions,” he wrote in X Abbas Araghchi, who significantly criticizes the head of the OIEA for not having condemned Israeli and American attacks against nuclear facilities.
“In a surprising betrayal of his duties, Rafael Grossi also omitted explicitly condemning these shameless violations of the guarantees of the OIEA and their status,” he also denounced.
Stating that Iran was about to acquire the atomic bomb, an ambition that Tehran has denied, Israel launched a bombing campaign on June 13 that attacked Iranian nuclear and military facilities and led to the death of high -risk military commanders, as well as scientists who developed the nuclear program.
The United States ensures that they have “devastated the Iranian nuclear program”
On Sunday, the president of the United States, Donald Trump, sent his bombers to reach the underground uranium enrichment site in Fordo, south of Tehran, and nuclear facilities in Ispahan and Natanz (center).
The Pentagon claims to have “devastated the Iranian nuclear program”, but experts underline that it is difficult at this time to evaluate the scope of destruction, especially in the underground facilities of Fordo, where there are thousands of machines used to enrich uranium.
The general director of the OIEA said access to Iranian nuclear sites on Monday to be able to establish what happened with the enriched uranium stock at a level close to the design threshold of an atomic bomb available for Iran.
Cooperation with the OIEA in question
The Guardian Council, an agency in charge of examining the legislation in Iran, announced on Thursday the approval of a bill in favor of a suspension of cooperation with the OIEA. The text must still be transmitted to the presidency for the final ratification.
Since the beginning of the war, Iranian officials have criticized the OIEA for not having condemned Israeli and American attacks against Iranian nuclear sites.
Iranian diplomacy also blames the UN Agency for adopting a resolution that accuses Iran of non -compliance with its nuclear obligations on June 12. Tehran believes that this decision served as “apologies” to the United States and Israel to launch their attacks. “The OIEA and its managing director are completely responsible for this sordid situation,” Abbas Araghchi reiterated on Friday.
