The head of the OIEA indicates that Iran could start enriching Uranium in “a few months”

Donald Trump said the nuclear sites were “completely destroyed” after American bombing and Benjamin Netanyahu had talked about a “historical victory”, ensuring that Tehran “never had the atomic weapon.”

Iran has the technical capabilities to start enriching uranium in “a few months,” said the Chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency (AIEA) Rafael Grosi in an interview with the US CBS channel this Friday, June 27 in an interview that will be broadcast on Sunday.

Almost a week after American bombings in the nuclear sites of Fordo, Natanz and Ispahan, everyone agrees, even Tehran, to say that these electric plants have been considerably damaged, but the questions remain the real efficiency of these strikes.

President Donald Trump, for example, suggested that the Iranian nuclear program had been delayed “several decades.”

“There have been significant, not complete damage (…). They can let him know, in a few months he would say, centrifuger in action to produce enriched uranium,” said Rafael Grossi.

Trump ensures that uranium actions “have not moved”

Another key issue: the spell of shares of more than 400 kg of uranium enriched at 60%, which could serve in theory to manufacture more than nine atomic pumps if the rate was 90%.

In an interview that will be broadcast on Sunday at the American Channel Fox News, Donald Trump said that Iranian uranium stocks had not been transferred before US attacks: “It is something very difficult to do and not notice (before bombing),” he said, according to the extracts of the interview. “They didn’t move anything.”

But the Inspectors of the IAE have not seen these reservations since June 10, hence the UN agency requests access to Iranian sites and actions.

Towards a cooperation suspension with AIEA

However, the Iranian Parliament voted in favor of a suspension of cooperation with the OIEA and the Guardian Council, in charge of examining the legislation in Iran, approved the text of the law on Thursday, which must be transmitted to the Presidency for its ratification.

“It is his law, his parliament, but there are legal implications here. An international treaty must, of course, have preceded. A national law cannot be invoked not to respect an international treaty,” Rafael Grossi said.

Iranian diplomacy criticizes the UN agency for adopting a resolution that accuses Iran of non -compliance with its nuclear obligations on June 12. Tehran also considers that this decision served as “excuse” to Israel and the United States to attack their nuclear sites.

“Who really can believe that this conflict happened due to an OIEA report? There was nothing new in this report (…) It may be easy to blame an international organization or an managing director, I don’t know, but that is not reasonable,” said Rafael Grossi.
