Gaza: Hamas claims to discuss “proposals” of high the fire received from the mediators

This announcement comes the next day, Donald Trump said a truce agreement was near Gaza, plagued by a humanitarian disaster after more than 20 months of war.

The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas said on Wednesday, July 2, discussing “proposals” for a high fire in Gaza, received from mediators who pilot indirect negotiations with Israel, this Wednesday.

“We show a high sense of responsibilities and make national consultations to discuss the proposals that the mediators have transmitted to us, to achieve an agreement that guarantees the end of the aggression, the withdrawal (Israeli, note) and an urgent help to our people in the Gaza Strip,” said Hamas.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Tuesday that a truce agreement was near Gaza, prey to a humanitarian disaster after more than 20 months of war.

A 60 -day truce studied by Hamas

Hamas spoke in his press release the “intensive efforts” provided by the Egyptian mediators and Qatar, while the negotiations have bogged down several times in recent months.

The proposals currently studied by Hamas mention a 60 -day truce, during which half of the Israeli hostages still alive would be released, in exchange for “a certain number of Palestinian prisoners,” said a Palestinian source close to negotiations.

Of the 251 people kidnapped during the attack of Hamas in Israel, which caused the war on October 7, 2023, 49 were still held in Gaza, including 27 declared dead by the Israeli army.

550 people killed near the GHF centers

According to the Hamas Government Ministry of Health for Gaza, almost 550 people died and more than 4,000 wounds in immense crowds were formed to reach several Gaza aid distribution centers since the GHF deployed there at the end of May.

The GHF repeats that its operations within the centers take place without incident and denies the slightest murderous shot in the vicinity of its aid points.

In Israel, the perspective of a struggle has aroused debates for months, some ministers very well that oppose while Hamas is still active.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly hindered his goal of administering both hostage and eradicating Hamas.

“Israel is sincere in his desire to reach an agreement on the hostages and a high fire in Gaza,” the head of Israeli diplomacy Gideon Saar said on Monday.
