Christophe Gleizes, an independent journalist who regularly collaborates with SO Foot and Society, went to Algeria in May 2024 to inform about a Kabylia football club. “We were rather on the path of appeasement. We thought, when it was arrested, that things would improve better. This matter acquired incredible proportions,” deplore Francis Godard, Christopheize’s stepfather.
He hopes that personalities defend the launch of their stepson, and in particular to launch a post in Zinedine Zidane. “It would be great for Zinedine Zidane to participate in this fight because it is a struggle for the freedom of the press and it is a struggle for the world of football,” he expects.
A sentence at seven years in prison
