In Pakistan, a resident of the city of Rawalpindi killed his 16 -year -old daughter in bullets because he refused to erase his Tiktok account, police said on Friday, July 11.
“The daughter’s father asked her to erase her Tiktok account. When she refused, she killed her,” a police spokesman told AFP. The alleged murderer was arrested.
According to the Rawalpindi police, a big city next to the Islamabad capital, the victim’s family tried, without success, “invent the suicidal murder.”
Other feminicides linked to Tiktok in the country
Cases of violence against women linked to their public behavior, even on social networks, are frequently reported in Pakistan. And the country’s authorities with a Muslim majority have often blocked or threatened to block Tiktok, accusing the application of promoting “immoral behavior” with sexual content or LGBTQ.
Earlier this year, in Balutchistan, a province of the southwest of Pakistan, where the tribal law is in force in many rural areas, a man admitted to having orchestrated the murder of his 14 -year -old daughter whom he reproached videos about Tiktok that he considered contrary to his “honor.”
In June, an influential 17 -year -old Pakistani was killed by her by an individual whose advances rejected. The victim, healthy Yousaf, had more than one million subscribers on social networks, including Tiktok, in which he shared videos of his coffees, beauty products or traditional favorite clothes.
