The Iranian Supreme Guide, Ayatolá Ali Khamenei, said that the 12 -day war launched in June with the support of the United States aimed to “overthrow” the Islamic Republic this Wednesday, July 16.

The purpose of this strategy was to “trigger problems and push the population to descend to the street, to overthrow the system,” said Ali Khamenei, according to the comments reported by its official website during a meeting in Tehran with leaders of the Judiciary.
Ayatolá Ali Khamenei, the last creator of decisions in Iran and the head of the Armed Forces, has been at the head of the country since 1989. Israel launched a surprise attack against Iran on June 13 and led hundreds of strikes in military nuclear sites, as well as official and scientific buildings linked to the Iranian nuclear program, perceived as an existential threat.

A high fire after 12 days of war
