Israel denied the information of the Sana Sana Syrian agency on Friday that its army led new air attacks on Thursday night near Soueida, a city with a druze in southern Syria.
“The Israeli army is not aware of night attacks in Syria,” said a military spokesman.
Israel bombed the Syrian army in Soueida and Damascus earlier this week, saying that it seeks to press the Syrian government to remove its troops from this region bruised by clashes between communities. Syrian troops retired on Thursday.
Israel had previously threatened to intensify their attacks if the Syrian forces did not abandon this province, where the fights left almost 600 people, according to an NGO.
Present mainly in Soueida, the Druse community in Syria had about 700,000 people before the civil war. This esoteric minority of a branch of Islam is also found in Lebanon and Israel.
