A woman died and another was injured in a Ukrainian drone attack in Sochi, in southern Russia, Russian authorities said on Thursday, July 24. The attack took place after a new Russian-Ukrainian negotiation session in Istanbul (Türkiye).
“One person died and another was seriously injured by drone fragments in the Adler district, in Sochi,” said the authorities of the Krasnodar region (South) on Telegram.
“These are two women who were on the street at the time of the fall of fragments,” said the same source.
A next peace agreement?
In total, 42 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed by the anti -Russian forces at night from Wednesday to Thursday, including seven in the Krasnodar region, said the Russian Defense Ministry in a statement. One of the drones played an oil base in Sirius, near Sochi, said a local official, Dmitri Plichkin, in Telegram.
Ukraine warned that he would intensify his attacks in Russia in response to multiplication in the last weeks of Russian attacks against their territory, which have killed dozens of civilians.
The Russians and the Ukrainians concluded, this Wednesday, July 23 at night, a third direct negotiation session in Istanbul by observing the “distance” of their positions to end the war launched in 2022 and only agree on a new exchange of prisoners.
