The Israeli army announced Sunday that it would observe “a daily tactical breakup” for humanitarian purposes in several areas of the Gaza Strip and the establishment of humanitarian corridors.
“The rest will be observed from 10 am to 8:00 pm (7:00 am to 5:00 pm GMT) from today (Sunday)”, starting with the areas ofir-al-Balah (center), Al-Mawasi (south) and the city of Gaza (north) where there are no “military operations,” said the army in a press release.
“Permanent runners” “will be established from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm (3:00 am to 8:00 pm GMT) to allow the safe step of the UN convoys and humanitarian aid organizations that deliver and distribute food and drugs to the population of the Gaza Strip,” he adds.
The Israeli army specifies that the decision was coordinated with these organizations, after “discussions on this subject.” The residents of these areas were notified through an Arabic publication of the Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee in X.
A serious food shortage
The UN or the NGOs operating in Gaza have not officially reacted immediately, while humanitarian and skeptical sources in private, said they were waiting to see the specific effects of the Israeli announcement on the field.
This announcement sometimes happens that Tsahal had already announced, this Saturday, July 26, that the falls for humanitarian aid would take charge at night in the Gaza Strip, confronted with serious shortages.
Israel, who has been begging the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war against Hamas on October 7, 2023, had imposed a hermetic block in the territory in early March, very relaxed at the end of May, which led to a very serious shortage of food, drugs and other basic needs.
