Reacting to an order from Donald Trump authorizing the sending of the US army to fight drug cartels, Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum said Friday, August 8 that there would be no “invasion of Mexico” for US soldiers.
The newspaper that the New York Times wrote on Friday that Donald Trump had secretly authorized the Department of Defense to send to the Army to fight against Latin American criminal groups linked to drug traffic, which his administration has placed in a list of the so -called “terrorist” organizations: six are Mexican, a Venezuelan and one of the Savior.
Contacted by AFP, the Pentagon has not yet confirmed the signature of the order informed by the New York Times. According to the newspaper, it provides an official base for military operations in the sea or in foreign territories where the posters operate.

“They informed us” of this order and he has “nothing to do with the commitment of the soldiers or any institution in our territory,” said Claudia Sheinbaum during his usual morning press conference.
“The United States will not come to Mexico with its soldiers; we cooperate, we collaborate, but there will be no invasion, this is excluded, absolutely fired and, in addition, we have expressed it in all calls: it is not allowed or planned by any agreement,” the president hit.
In February, Claudia Sheinbaum had already said that Mexico would not accept any American “invasion” of its territory under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking.
The Trump administration has threatened Mexico several times with an important customs surcharge, accusing it of laxity against the United States of illegal migrants and drugs, especially fentanyl.
