Gaza: Egypt works with Qatar and the United States to relaunch a 60 -day truce plan

Liberations of hostages and detainees, the high fire of 60 days … Egypt, together with Qatar and the United States, tried to finish the conflict, launched on October 7, 2023 by the attack on Hamas’ terrorist organization, as a mediator.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister said on Tuesday, August 12 that Cairo worked with Doha and Washington for a high 60 -day fire in Gaza, as part of a new effort to end the war between Israel and Hamas.

Egypt, together with Qatar and the United States, plays the role of mediator between Israel and Hamas to try to end the war launched on October 7, 2023 for the attack on the terrorist organization.

“We are actively working in full cooperation with Qatar and Americans,” said Minister Badr Abdelatty at a press conference in the Egyptian capital.

“The main objective is to return to the initial proposal: establish a high fire of 60 days, with the release of certain hostages and Palestinian detainees, as well as conditions without conditions and without restrictions on humanitarian and medical aid to Gaza,” he added.

“We are chatting with Hamas, with the Israelis and the work to reach an agreement” on the basis of a recent American plan, “said Badr Abdelatty.

A “Global Agreement of Alto El Fuego”

A Palestinian source close to the archive indicated that “the mediators are in the process of formulating a new proposal as a global agreement of Alto El Fuego”, which provides liberation, “in One Go”, of all hostages still held in Gaza.

In July, more than two weeks of discussions in Doha had not unlocked negotiations on a high fire and the release of hostages.

Hamas’ negotiators had finally retired, a few days after the departure of US and Israeli delegations.

The American emissary Steve Witkoff had attributed the failure of discussions in Hamas, saying that Washington would consider “other options” in the absence of an agreement.

A truce concluded in January two months later due to lack of lasting agreement between the two camps.

On Tuesday, two Palestinian sources told AFP that a high -risk delegation was expected in Hamas in Cairo to talk with Egyptian officials.
