The Western kyiv allies will formalize “within ten days” security guarantees for Ukraine to avoid any new Russian attack in this country in case of a peace agreement with Moscow, said Ukrainian President Volodyr Zelensky on Monday, August 18, August 18.
“Our partners will probably decide security guarantees and there will be more and more details, because everything will be on paper and formalize (…) within a week to ten days,” he said after negotiations in the White House with Donald Trump and European leaders.
“It is important that the United States gives a clear sign that it will be part of the countries that will help, coordinate and will also be participating in security guarantees for Ukraine. I think it is a great step forward,” added Volodymyr Zelensky, cited in a press release of the Presidency.
The “best” discussion
The Ukrainian president was delighted against Donald Trump, who received him in the White House, to have had with him “the best” of his discussions to try to find an exit in his country.
“I think we had a very good conversation with President Trump, it was really the best, well, I’m sorry, maybe the best will take place in the future, but it was really good, and we talked about extremely sensitive things,” said Volodymyr Zelensky, sitting around a table where Donald Trump and the leaders of the European powers were also.
He later added that Kyiv had offered to provide US weapons for $ 90 billion, the financial times refer to a budget of 100 billion financed by Europeans.
