Donald Trump estimated on Tuesday, August 19 that obtaining a peace agreement in Ukraine could help him go to Paradise, a joke that his chances of accessing him are currently weak. The 79 -year -old American president had already suggested that he wanted to end war in Ukraine to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, whom he thinks he deserves.
But after visiting the White House of the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and several European leaders to find an exit to the conflict with Russia, said Tuesday that he also had less prosaic motivations.
“I want to try to go to paradise if possible,” he told Fox & Friends, a channel that has the favors of American conservatives. “I heard that I am not well located, that I am really at the bottom of the scale! But if I manage to go to paradise, it will be one of the reasons,” he said.
Married three times and put twice by the American Congress (“accusation”), Donald Trump is not a saint.
The Republican billionaire has been involved in several scandals over the years and is the first US president who has been sentenced to Criminal, for hidden payments to an X movie star.
Total support of the American religious right
But he adopted an increasingly mystical tone after having survived an attempt to murder last year. During its inauguration in January, he said he was “saved by God to return his greatness to America.”
Benefiting from the full support of the American religious right, Donald Trump seeks to seem more pious than during his first term.
He appointed an official spiritual advisor, Paula White, who directed several collective prayers during which the participants put him in their hands during the events in the White House.
The White House spokesman said Tuesday that “the president was serious” when he made this statement in Ukraine. “I think the president wants to go to Paradise as, I hope we all want it in this room,” Karoline Leavitt, journalists said, who organizes the prayers before their press conferences.
