The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that his country had successfully tried a new missile with a range of 3,000 kilometers called Flamingo, and whose mass production could begin at the beginning of next year.
“The missile has been the subject of conclusive evidence. It is currently our most efficient missile: it can travel 3,000 kilometers,” journalists told Wednesday.
“At the end of December or in January-February, its mass production must be launched,” he continued.
During the night, Russia launched 574 drones and 40 missiles, said the Ukraine Air Force, a record since mid -July, despite the intensification of US peace efforts. At least one person was killed in western Ukraine, according to local authorities.
A possible meeting with Vladimir Putin
This Thursday, the Ukrainian president said he was ready to meet Vladimir Putin, provided he finds an agreement on kyiv’s security guarantees with Westerners. He mentioned several clues at the place of this possible meeting during an interview with several media, including the AFP, mentioned by Switzerland, Austria or Türkiye.
The question of these security guarantees, claimed by Ukraine to deter Russia from any new attack in the case of peace, is in the heart of diplomatic efforts in progress to find an exit to the conflict launched in 2022.
At the end of the meeting between the Ukrainian president, his American counterpart and European leaders, in Washington, the White House said “ready to help” Ukraine. Europeans and Americans have mentioned different possibilities that range from guarantees similar to the famous “article 5” of NATO to the deployment of a military contingent in Ukraine or even support for training, air or naval.
In return, Russia warned Wednesday that any security discussion guarantees that Westerners plan to give Ukraine and that it would not take into account Moscow’s position “anywhere.”
To end his assault, Russia states in particular that Ukraine gives him four partially occupied regions, in addition to Crimea Annexa in 2014, and renounces the Atlantic Alliance.
