Last April, Jade Damarell, a 32 -year -old paratrooper, chose to commit suicide by not opening his canvas in a jump to 4,600 meters above sea level in Durham County in England.
This Thursday, August 21, the authorities decided to make public the conclusions of the investigation, indicating that the young woman deliberately ended her life after having broken with her partner the day before, as reported by The Guardian.
The emergency device deactivated
The researchers reached this conclusion thanks to several elements added during the investigations. During his last jump, the British did not activate his main parachute. More disturbing, an emergency device had also disabled to implement the canvas at some speed or altitude.
Once there to investigate, the inspector in charge of the case also discovered that Jade Damarell had left instructions on the blocking screen of his phone explaining how to access him after his death, The Guardian said. On the plane, notes addressed to his family had been found. In these text messages, she “apologized and thanked them for their support.”
For its part, the victim’s family said in a statement shared by the Guardian who “accepted the conclusions of the investigation.” They also want to speak “openly and without shame” about the suicide of his “bright, beautiful and brave” girl.
