The humanitarian flotilla for Gaza forced to return to Barcelona due to strong winds

A new flotilla that transported humanitarian aid had left on Sunday, August 31 in the direction of Gaza, but had to return due to poor climatic conditions.

The violent winds in the Mediterranean have forced the ships that left this Sunday, August 31, from Barcelona to Gaza on Sunday, August 31, carrying humanitarian aid and hundreds of pro-palestinian activists, including the Swedish Greta Thunberg, to return to their port port, the organizers said on Monday, September 1.

“Due to the dangerous climatic conditions, we tested at the sea and then returned to the port to allow the storm to pass. This led to a delay in our departure to avoid complications with smaller boats,” said the Global Sumud Flotilla in a press release, without specifying that the ships had returned to the port of Barcelona.
