Elon Musk is evaluating the reactivation of the suspended accounts on Twitter, he has been asking users about this possibility, after having re-allowed the presence of Donald Trump on the social network.
“Twitter should offer a general amnesty for suspended accounts, as long as they have not broken the law or sent spam,” questioned the owner of the company.
About two hours later, more than a million accounts had already spoken, mainly in favor of the reactivation.
On Saturday, the CEO of Twitter had already reactivated the account of former United States President Donald Trump, banned after the invasion of the Capitol in January 2021.
Musk, who is also responsible for Tesla and SpaceX, has been stressing that Twitter is a “digital public square”, essential for democracy.
Still, he argues that content moderation is too restrictive, undermining freedom of expression.
Given this, several brands have already suspended their advertising on the platform.
