North Korean leader Kim Jong One declared herself open to contact the United States if the latter renounces demanding that Pyongyang abandon her nuclear weapons program, the official media report of North Korea on Monday, September 22, September 22.
“If the United States abandons its delusional obsession with denuclearization and, recognizing reality, you really want to coexist peacefully with us, then there is no reason why we cannot sit in front of them,” said the North Korean leader, according to the KCNA press agency.
“Personally I have good memories of the current US president, Donald Trump,” he said.
A dialogue at a dead point despite historical encounters
North Korea carried out six nuclear essays between 2006 and 2017 and continued from the development of its arsenal despite the strong international sanctions. Pyongyang justifies its military nuclear program for the threats of which is called the subject by the United States and its allies, including South Korea. In January, Kim Jong One said this program would continue “indefinitely.”
Donald Trump, who had a rare series of meetings with Kim Jong one during his first term, was organized from his return to power last January to connect with the North Korean leader, whom he described as “intelligent type.”
The two men gathered for the first time at a historic summit in June 2018 in Singapore, the second in Hanoi in Vietnam in February 2019 and the last time at the border between the two Koreas in June 2019. These meetings had not resulted in a possible Nuduclearization of Pyongyang.
