The Danish prime minister denounced, “the most serious attack against a critical infrastructure” in Denmark, after flying over Copenhagen airport for drones for four hours on Monday night, September 22, linked to an unknown actor.
“This is part of the evolution that we have been able to observe recently with other drones attacks, air space violations and cyber attacks against European airports,” Frederiksen said in a statement transmitted to the AFP, referring to similar incidents in Poland and Romania and the incursion of the Russian primer aircraft in Eston’s aerial air.
Denmark faces a “significant threat of sabotage,” Danish intelligence services said Tuesday.
“We face Denmark to a threat of significant sabotage. We may not get to attack ourselves, but we stress and see how we react,” said Flemming director of Intelligence Director (PET) during a press conference.
Paralyzed airports
On Monday night, Copenhagen airport saw three or four “great drones”, whose police have not yet been able to identify the model. These devices flew over the airport simultaneously around 8:30 pm, causing its temporary closure and altering the trip of almost 20,000 passengers, according to the airport administration.
In total, 31 flights had to be diverted and another 100 canceled. “The drones seemed to be different from different directions,” Jenssen Jenssen said a police officer in front of the press.
The Copenhagen airport is located on the coast of the Oresund Strait, between Sweden and Denmark. He closed Monday night at 8:30 pm and reopened shortly after midnight. The Oslo airport was also closed several hours after the drones flew over it.
