“The police arrested extremely young children. Two of them are only 13 years old,” said Commissioner Ida Melbo Øyste at a press conference.
Teenagers manipulated by criminal networks
Having less than 15 years, the age of the criminal majority in Norway, was entrusted to social services.
“We currently favor the hypothesis that suspects have acted within the framework of a contract commanded by third parties,” added Melbo Øyste.
Norway is experiencing a low crime rate, but it has been markedly splashed in recent months by the gang war that is wearing in neighboring Sweden. In both countries, there is a growing trend in criminal circles to resort to young minors who escape legal procedures due to their age.
According to the TV2 channel, one of the 13 -year -old suspects received 30,000 crowns (just over 2,500 euros) for its participation.
“At this stage of the investigation, we believe that (the grenade aircraft) aimed at a room located near the facilities,” said Inspector Grete Link Metlid, head of the Intelligence and Surveys section.
Only two of the three suspects are directly linked to the explosion, he said. The police have not excluded other arrests.
