A prosecutor claimed a sentence of more than 11 years in prison against the Hip-Hop Star P. Diddy, acquitted in July of the heaviest positions initially selected against him in a case of sexual violence.
Sean combs, his real name, currently imprisoned, will be established on Friday at his destination before the New York Court that judged him.
At 55, P. Diddy was accused of having forced several women, including his girlfriend from 2007 to 2018, singer Cassie, to participate in sexual marathons with prostituted men.
“The accused does not show any regret”
In early July, accusations of sex trafficking and the most serious association of criminals against him were acquitted. However, he was convicted of transporting people for prostitution purposes.
In a long text message of 166 pages dated Tuesday, federal prosecutor Jay Clayton justifies the sentence claimed by the fact that “their crimes are serious and carry, in several similar cases, to sentences greater than ten years” in prison.
“An important prison sentence is also necessary in this case because the defendant does not show any regret,” he wrote.
Sean combs “tries to present decades of abuse as simply the consequence of mutually toxic relationships. But nothing is” mutual “in a relationship where a person has all power,” adds Jay Clayton.
“A letter sent by singer Cassie”
He joined his arguments in an excerpt from a letter sent by singer Cassie (Casandra Ventura of his real name) to the Court: “I hope that his decision to condemn reflects the force that led to the victims of Sean combs to demonstrate,” he wrote in particular.
The defense of the rapper and businessman had claimed for his last week a sentence that does not exceed 14 months in prison, a duration that would allow him to be released before the end of the year given the time dedicated to the arrest prior to the trial.
