The Brest prosecutor’s office opened an investigation after a report by the French Navy on an oil-seas oil of the Saint-Nazaire wind fleet (Loira-Atlantique), said Wednesday, October 1, confirming information from the newspaper.
The oil tanker, called “Pushpa” or “Boracay” and the Benin Swinging pavilion, would be suspected of being involved in drone flyers that interrupted air traffic in Denmark, according to the specialized site of the Maritime Executive.
Atlantic’s maritime prefecture told AFP that “he had recently made a report to the Brest prosecutor” regarding the Boracay ship “suspected of being rape.”
“An investigation that is open, we cannot communicate in this case,” he added.
A Russian Ghost Fleet
After the report, the Brest prosecutor, Stéphane Kellenberger, confirmed that AFP had opened an investigation for “lack of justification for the nationality of the ship/pavilion” and “negative to obtain.”
“Investigations and useful acts have been trusted by me, in Co-Saisine, to the Maritime Gendarmerie Research Section, as well as the Atlantic Maritime Gendarierie Group,” he added, without further details.
The ship would belong to the Russian ghost fleet, used by Russia to avoid Western sanctions against their oil sales, according to the maritime executive.
From Primorsk, in Russia, on September 20, the oil tanker would join Vadinar, in the northwest of India, on October 20, but presented for several days near the Saint-Nazaire wind farm, according to the marine traffic site.
Recent drones reports in Denmark led to the closing of several airports, including Copenhagen, the largest in northern Europe.
