Seven men were sentenced on Wednesday, October 1 to sentences that go from 12 to 35 years in prison this Wednesday, October 1 for violations committed for five years of two young people who had transformed into sex slaves, in one of the affairs of pedocriminal gangs that shook the United Kingdom.
“These two girls were extremely vulnerable (…), they have been handed over to sexual to sexual, battered, humiliated, degraded,” said Judge Jonathan Slyryry, of the Manchester court.
The leader of this group, Mohammed Zahid, a 65 -year -old man born in Pakistan, was sentenced to 35 years in prison, the heaviest sentence. He sold lingerie in a rockdale market, in the north of England, and attracted adolescents promising them alcohol or drugs in exchange for sex.
More than one hundred men already convicted
For several decades, in cities of England, groups of men, for many Pakistani origin, attacked minors, mostly white and disadvantaged environments.
More than one hundred men have already been sentenced, even recently, on April 30, an 81 -year -old man to 46 years in prison. The country remains plagued by several thousand victims, while the police and social services have been severely criticized for their inability to protect them.
In the trial that ended Wednesday, Kasir Bashir, 50, was sentenced to 29 years in prison in his absence, after having disappeared before trial, and Mushtaq Ahmed, 67, sentenced to 27 years.
Mohammed Shahzad, 44, and Naheem Akram, 49, received a 26 -year prison sentence, Roheez Khan, 39, 19, and Nisar Hussain, 41, 12 years in prison.
Pit mattresses, defective warehouses …
During the trial, prosecutor Rossano Scamardella described the abuse imposed on the two young people, 13 at the beginning of the events, who lasted five years between 2001 and 2006.
He said they were forced to have sex “with several men on the same day”, “in ruins, in moldy mattresses” or “in cars, parking or disuse stores.”
The seven men continued as part of Operation Lytton, an investigation launched in 2015 by the Grand Manchester police on acts of sexual exploitation of minors in Rochdale.
