War in Ukraine: 15 dead in a Russian bombardment in Kherson

Hospital patients in this southern Ukrainian town recently recaptured from the Russians have been evacuated, facing “constant” shelling.

Fifteen civilians were killed in a Russian bombardment on the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson on Friday, an official from the city, from where Moscow troops recently withdrew, announced.

“Today, 15 residents of the city were killed and 35 were injured, including a child,” as a result of the Russian attacks, Galyna Lugova, head of the city’s military administration, said on social media.

She said several “private houses and high-rise buildings” were damaged in the strikes.

For his part, the governor of the southern region of Kherson, Yaroslav Yanushevich, announced the evacuation of all hospital patients in the city of the same name, from which the Muscovite troops withdrew two weeks ago, due to the “constant bombardment Russian”.

“Due to constant Russian shelling, we are evacuating patients from hospitals in Kherson,” Yaroslav Yanushevich said on Telegram.

Faced with the advance of troops from Kyiv, Russian soldiers had finally abandoned Kherson in early November, marking a turning point in the counter-offensive operated by Ukraine in the east of the country since late summer.
