Detention terms considered unacceptable. Greta Thunberg expressed, in the Swedish authorities, the poor treatment, while she was arrested in an Israeli prison after being arrested by the Israeli army aboard the flotilla for Gaza, the Guardian reveals on Saturday, October 4.
“Dehydration reported. He did not receive enough water and food. He also said he has developed eruptions that suspects being caused by bed bugs,” reports Swedish diplomacy.
“She insisted that food and drinking water be provided immediately and that all prisoners must have access to an Israeli lawyer if you wish,” he added.
On Friday, the representatives of the Sweden Embassy in Tel Aviv were authorized to visit nine Swedes detained in the Ketziot prison, in the Negev desert, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a message to the AFP, without giving their identity.
“They forced her to kiss the Israeli flag”
According to a letter consulted by the British newspaper, another detainee says that Israeli soldiers took photos in which the activist was forced to fly flags, without specifying which. A story confirmed by two other members of the flotilla with daily life.
“They dragged little Greta with the hair before our eyes, beat her and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag. They did everything we can imagine, to serve as a warning to others,” said Turkish activist Ersin çelik, participating in Sumud Flotilla, in the Anadolu press agency.
Greta Thunberg is one of the 437 activists, parliamentarians and lawyers who participated in the Sumud Global Flotilla, a coalition of more than 40 ships that carry humanitarian aid whose objective was to break the lock of the sea imposed by Israel for 16 years in Gaza.
Hundreds of people aboard these ships were arrested by Israeli forces and hoped to be expelled. Among them, 137 activists from thirteen countries flew to Istanbul on Saturday.
Sweden has asked Israel to provide Swedes without delay during the interception of the flotilla to drinkable gaza, food and medical treatment, he said on Saturday, October 4.
