“It is a war area. His city is a war area and lies so that criminals can enter and destroy the lives of people,” said internal security minister Kristi Noem, on Sunday on the Fox News channel, referring to the mayor of the city, Brandon Johnson, who denounced him “anti -constitutional measures.”
The minister said that gangs and posters and other “known terrorist organizations” offered bonds to protesters against immigration police officers (ICE).
President Donald Trump signed a decree on Saturday to send 300 national guards to Chicago, Illinois, to “protect federal agents and assets,” according to the White House.
This announcement was strongly criticized in the ranks of the democratic opposition, Illinois senator Dick Durbin, believing that “the president does not seek to combat crime, but to spread fear.”
“It is they who transform this city into a war zone,” added Illinois Democratic governor on Sunday, JB Pritzker, on the CNN channel, describing multiple incursions and asking for the departure of the troops.

The megalopolis of the north of the country is the fifth democratic city where President Trump ordered the deployment of the National Guard, a very exceptional measure.
National guards have already been deployed in recent months in Los Angeles, Washington and Memphis, despite the opposition of local officials. In Washington, the US president says that this has made it possible to “clean” the capital.

Despite this, the state governor, Tina Kotek, said Sunday, in a statement, that a contingent of “101” National Guards of California had been deployed.
