Donald Trump says that Hamas “accepted certain very important things” for the end of the war in Gaza

The US president says that indirect negotiations to end the war in Gaza “are going very well”, in Egypt.

Donald Trump said Monday, October 6 of his Oval office in the White House that Hamas “had accepted certain very important things”, while indirect negotiations to end two years of war in Gaza are held in Egypt.

“I think it’s going very well and I think Hamas has accepted very important things,” the US president said during an exchange with the press in the Oval office.

“We are going to have an agreement on Gaza, I’m quite sure,” he said.

Donald Trump said he had “red lines” for current discussions, without specifying which.

“Very positive”

He also contradicted the press information according to which he accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to have too negative, ensuring that the Israeli leader was, on the contrary, “very positive” about the current process.

The indirect conversations between Israel and Hamas to free the hostages and end the war in Gaza began Monday in Egypt. These conversations are based on the 20 -point level proposed by Donald Trump to establish what he calls “eternal peace” in the Palestinian territory.

The negotiations began in the El-Cheikh charm, an Egyptian media announced on the eve of the second anniversary of the unprecedented attack in Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023, which caused the war.

The Egyptian and Qatari mediators “work with the two parties to establish a mechanism” for the release of all hostages in exchange for prisoners, added Al-Qahera News, a TV linked to the Egyptian state.
