Railway career to rescue hundreds of mountaineers blocked at Everest after a violent snowstorm

The strong snowfall on the Tibetan plateau and Mont Everest have caught hundreds of hikers. After a weather of bad weather, 350 people were evacuated, but 200 mountaineers remain blocked.

On the Tibetan side of Everest, the impressive snowfall cuts the rise of the world’s ceiling for hundreds of mountaineers. Cutted by the storm, a game could be evacuated this Monday, October 6, while dozens of others are still blocked in the mountains since this weekend.

Unusual for the season, the snowfall began during the night from Friday to Saturday. All climbers, who came to mount Everest in the province of Qinghai (China), were surprised by bad weather. A hiker died of hypothermia and altitude evil, according to the state chain of CCTV.

Then a counterreloj career was carried out, in extreme climatic conditions. Hundreds of rescuers have been mobilized and have already helped 350 hikers. They are still on site this Tuesday to try to save the 200 people who are refugees in altitude fields in the Karma Valley, more than 4,900 meters above sea level.

Extreme conditions

In this season, this valley is particularly popular among Chinese tourists, the mountain side is recognized as easier.

In videos and photos taken by refugees, tents are almost buried by snow that falls into large flakes. And to the weather added the difficulties of the ascent: altitude and lack of oxygen. Even the Yaks are struggling to make their way to dust.

“You had to constantly clean the snow in the stores, but I fell as fatigue (…) and my store was buried,” says Feifei.

Jiangsu’s young hiker, a province of the East, finally managed to return to a rescue post after two days of walking.

Like her, several hikers tried to join rescuers. In the onion row, they challenged cold and snow for several days to get out of the world’s roof.

On the other side of Everest, torrential rains fall on Nepal and northern India. There have been floods and landslides, especially in Katmandú. According to one last biting, 70 people lost their lives during this bad weather.
