Gaza: Hamas chief negotiator says he received guarantees guaranteeing the end of the war

A few hours after Donald Trump’s announcement of an agreement between Israel and Hamas, Hamas’s chief negotiator announced Thursday that he had received assurances that the war was over.

Hamas’s main negotiator, Khalil al-Hayya, announced this Thursday, October 9, that he had received “guarantees” from the United States, Arab mediators and Turkey, assuring that the “war has definitively ended.”

“Today we announce that we have reached an agreement that ends the war and aggression against our people and establishes a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of occupation forces,” he said.

Khalil al-Hayya also announces that the agreement provides for “the entry of humanitarian aid, the opening of the Rafah border crossing in both directions and the exchange of prisoners.”
