Meta, owner of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has been included by Russia in the list of extremist organizations, the Ministry of Defense announced this Saturday.
According to authorities, Meta allowed calls for violence against Russian citizens.
For Russia, Meta also allowed social media under its control to spread false information and “terrorist propaganda.”
At the end of March, the Russian justice had already declared Meta an extremist organization, having ratified the decision weeks later.
