The Red Cross has recovered the remains of a hostage held in the Gaza Strip by Hamas, the Israeli army said in a statement on the night of Friday, October 17.
“According to information provided by the Red Cross, the coffin of a deceased hostage has been transferred to its custody and is on its way to Israeli army troops in the Gaza Strip,” the statement said.
Israel accuses Hamas of violating the ceasefire agreement, which provided for the return of all hostages, alive and dead, by October 13 at the latest. The Palestinian Islamist movement released in time the last 20 live hostages held in Gaza since its attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
However, since Monday he has only returned nine remains of the 28 he still had. Earlier this Friday, he promised to return to Israel all the remains of the hostages still in the Gaza Strip.
