Storms in Gaza: Israeli authorities announce that they have identified new remains

Israeli authorities announced on Sunday that they had identified the remains of Ronen Engel, one of the two deceased hostages handed over the day before by Hamas.

The Israeli army claimed to have “informed the family of hostage Ronen Engel” of the return of his remains to Israel, information confirmed by the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who stated once again that Israel will make “no compromise” and will spare no effort “until all fallen hostages are repatriated.”

Ronen Engel, 54, a resident of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was kidnapped from his home and murdered by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and his body was taken hostage in the Gaza Strip. He was declared dead on December 1, 2023.
