The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+) decided this Sunday to continue applying a cut in oil production in 2023, a measure that it defended as “necessary and correct”.
In a statement, the alliance, which includes Russia, reiterated that the reduction in production to two million barrels per day, announced on October 5, is a “necessary and correct” measure, noting that this decision is related to ” market issues.
The ministers in charge of Energy of the 23 countries that make up OPEC+ have also scheduled a conference for June 4, 2023.
Even so, they expressed their willingness to, if necessary, adopt “immediate additional measures.”
