The scene was captured by the family’s surveillance camera. A 5-year-old girl was attacked by a raccoon in Connecticut, USA, before being rescued by her mother.
The events took place on Friday, in the town of Ashford. A 5-year-old girl is waiting for the school bus, when she is attacked by the animal. According to her mother’s account, disseminated by the US media, the latter was alerted by the cries of her daughter. “I heard her scream and I ran to see what was happening. I thought she had her hand stuck in the door,” Logan MacNamara said.
Rabies vaccine
In reality, her daughter Rylee is struggling with the animal, which has latched on to her left leg. The little girl tries several times to evict him, without success. The mother then takes the animal by hand, yanks it from her daughter’s leg, and orders it to return to safety.
In the video we see the mother of the family closing the door of her house, while holding the raccoon by the head. After several attempts, she manages to throw it away and enters her turn.
After the incident, mother and daughter went to the hospital. The girl was slightly injured. They plan to get vaccinated against rabies in the coming weeks.
