Drone attacks: Spokesperson for the Russian Embassy in France warns that “the response will not take long”

On BFMTV, Alexander Makogonov estimated that Moscow must “prepare to avoid these types of strikes” hitting Russian soil and affirmed that if Volodymyr Zelensky “continues to sow winds”, “he will always reap storms”.

Since Monday, several drone strikes have hit Russian soil. The Ukrainian authorities have not claimed responsibility for these attacks, which illustrate the difficulties encountered by the invasion launched on February 24 by Russian President Vladimir Putin. “This shows that there are vulnerable points that need to be better defended,” Alexander Makogonov, a spokesman for the Russian embassy in France, admitted on the BFMTV set Tuesday night.

“The Kiev regime is capable of carrying out these types of attacks. We have to be prepared to prevent this type of thing,” he said, adding that we must “prepare for everything.”

Strikes Monday and Tuesday

the russian newspaper Kommersant writes that Ukraine used Soviet TU-141 drones to attack, in particular, on Monday, the Engels base, which hosts strategic bombers and is located 500 km from the nearest Ukrainian border.

The British Ministry of Defense estimated on Tuesday that if Kiev had been able to carry out such an operation, Moscow must consider it “the most significant strategic failure to protect its forces since the invasion of Ukraine.”

On Tuesday morning, another drone strike, in the Kursk airfield area, this time near the Ukrainian border, set a fuel tank on fire.

“The answer will not be long,” warned Alexander Makogonov. “We must not believe that our soldiers will leave this unanswered,” added the man who embodies the voice of the Kremlin in France.

“Everything is in the hands of Zelensky. If he continues to sow winds, he will always reap storms,” concluded the spokesman, who assures that a return to the Ukrainian borders on February 24 was “impossible.”
