At least 150 travelers were injured this Wednesday after a collision between two trains at the Montcada i Reixac station, on the outskirts of Barcelona, according to the Civil Protection of Catalonia.
The accident occurred at 7:50 am (6:50 am in Lisbon) when a train traveling to Barcelona collided with the last train of another train that was at the same station and was also heading towards the capital of Catalonia, Spain.
The affected trains circulated on the R4 Cercanías de Renfe line, which was closed due to the accident.
Lines R7 and R12 were also closed, in both directions.
Renfe sources told the Spanish news agency Efe that the circumstances that caused the accident are unknown at the moment.
